I Bow Before You

Hand bellsI woke up early one special morning, 12.30 a.m., with a lucid, present mind.

I saw all and each of the sangha as Bodhisattvas. No longer just holograms put there for the benefit of my interaction. The insight that I am really not alone, that there are all these complete and wondrous beings surrounding my being, realms passing through realms unobstructed.

I am reminded of the Dalai Lama who bows to each person he meets and says to himself "I am inferior to you". This is clearly not in the sense that he is lower on a hierarchy than the person, but that the amazing universe before him has so much experience, so much perception that is wisdom he does not have. As he bows before the person, each is a Bodhisattva for the Dalai Lama.

Thus knowing of each being in the universe as a Bodhisattva, I bow before each of you.
