Dana

Ana in the Mandala GardenA number of our teachers do not charge a set fee for teaching but live by Dana.

Dana is a Buddhist teaching about giving and receiving and the interdependence of all beings, about generosity and thankfulness.

Dana is not a tip or gratuity but is often the Teacher's only source of livelihood. You are invited to give as generously as you are able to support the teaching.

Our course costs will sometimes include, as well as accommodation and food, fees for teacher's travel fund, cook's fee and a fee for course materials, this does not include Dana.

During a retreat we also ask participants to give Dana to the land. This may be in many forms and in accord with the fitness and ability of each person.

Many visitors comment on the peaceful and healing atmosphere at the Centre. This is undoubtedly due to the natural beauty of the place and the great amount of meditation that hasĀ been done over the years. Possibly even more important than this though, is the fact that so many people have given freely from the heart (Dana) to build a place that would be of benefit to all beings.
