Bodhi Seeds – A low cost retreat opportunity for young people

4 August – 16 September, 2016

An innovative six week programme involving mindfulness, practical work, community living, music, dance, philosophy and more

A six week study and retreat for young people to use mindfulness to understand themselves and others more deeply. While the overall focus is organic and emergent based on the qualities and aspirations of the beings who attend the retreat will include a living exploration of the maps of consciousness through mythology, psychology, practices of Buddha Dharma and evolutionary biology.

This six week study and retreat costs just $800. This includes everything; accommodation, food and facilitation. The Wangapeka Board of Trustees is supporting this experiment by offering accommodation for free. The course will weave together mindfulness teachings, active contemplation, creative explorations into music and dance, group work and service to the land and buildings. We will open the space for a fresh conversation to emerge: What does ethical living, meditation/ mindfulness, wisdom look like in these modern times for a new generation coming forth?

Participants interested in being a part of this experience require:

  • Commitment to attend 7 days a week for the six weeks, there will five days of facilitation and two days self study each week
  • Willingness to commit to an ethical way of living that includes an active aspiration to support life, foster kindness, speak and listen deeply and mindfully, refrain from drugs and alcohol
  • Genuine motivation toward exploring community living and offering service.
  • Aged between 18 and 45

The group will be small and focused, there are five places left on this course. If you are a young person interested to learn mindfulness and explore body work, belonging, interconnectedness, wisdom pathways while living communally in a safe and nurturing environment, then take this one off opportunity and apply.
