Tending The Wild Edge of Sorrow with Jaime Howell

October 13, 2017 - October 17, 2017

“There is some strange intimacy between grief and aliveness, some sacred exchange between what seems unbearable and what is most exquisitely alive”

Good meditation supports the possibility of meeting all of life with openness and wonder. This retreat four day retreat will explore the gold that lives in the landscapes of sorrow. We will craft together with music, movement, meditation and meaningful ritual to enter into the heart of kindness, patience, interest and love.Jaime has trained and shared meditation and movement throughout New Zealand for over 15 years. A graduate of a three-year school of meditation training, a director of rites of passage, Jaime aspires to bring forth an embodied integrated way of being in the world that is awake, inclusive ,open and able to move well.

“Jamie has a very peaceful presence filled with love and openness. With these qualities he helped guide me to open up and free myself to go through a healing journey of movement. I highly recommend his session. ” — Colette Steel Nelson

Costs: $335+ Dana for the teaching.

The $335 includes three healthy meals a day, your own room, resources and administration costs. In keeping with a tradition of generosity, the teaching is given freely. Each individual is encouraged to gift according to their means.

About Dana for teaching  – “generosity”

As the director of Opening Minds, Jaime is dedicated to the growth of wisdom and compassion in community. The training costs have been considerable to complete ten years of consistent retreat work, a Masters Degree in Education and the Open Floor teacher training. The fruits of a lifetime learning are offered to support you in meeting with life with wisdom and compassion. Each participant arrives at the amount of dana voluntarily. Dana is a practice of generosity that strengthens the giver and the receiver. Please bring cash to put in the dana bowl to support good teachings generously offered.

If using Paypal please add 5% of the total cost and include with your payment to cover Paypal’s fees – many thanks.

“Finally on my way to yes I bump into all the places where I said no to my life; all the untended wounds the red and purple scars those hieroglyphs of pain carved into my skin and bones, those coded messages that send me down the wrong street again and again where I find them, the old wounds the old misdirections and I lift them one by one close to my heart and I say, holy holy.”
Pesha Joyce Gertler, The Healing Time.
